ACNE SKIN CARE

Acne is a curable disorder that is caused by the over activeness of the sebaceous glands. Due to this, excess oil is secreted which accumulates in the oil sac, filling in the pores and hence clogging them. When the pores cannot hold any longer, the oil oozes out, this way, the pores expand and more oil gets hardened in these pores and when the tip is exposed to air, it oxidizes and gets dark, resulting in the formation of a blackhead. Primary acne lesion is infact a blackhead. So blackheads should be prevented since their neglect irritates the surrounding skin tissues resulting in inflammation, pimples and acne.

Types of Acne
Acne can be of 3 types:
Mild: When tiny heads of pimples appear on the cheeks and forehead.
Severe: Reddish pimples take time to normalize and heal.
Critical: Inflammatory pus-filled pimples leave scars.

Common features of Acne:
Excessive oiliness of the skin.
Whiteheads
Blackheads
Large Pores
Little bumps under the skin

Treatment of Acne

Step 1:
Cleaning:
Clean the face with medicated soap. Always clean your face with water after coming home from outside.

Step 2:
Toning:
Put some astringent on a cotton pad and wipe your face with it. You can buy astringent from the market or you can use a homemade astringent.

Step 3:
Conditioning:
Use antiseptic face oil. They are antibacterial and non oily. Apply 2 drops of lemon essential oil mixed in a teaspoonful of rose water.

FACTORS
There are several other factors that are associated with acne.

Dandruff:
It not only causes acne but also aggravates the condition so it should not be ignored and should be well treated, with appropriate medications and antiseptics.
Diet:
One should avoid eating too much fried and spicy food. Avoid eating sweets, ice cream and also seafood like lobsters and also the red meat. Instead go for fresh fruits, lean meat, and yoghurt and make it a habit to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water daily as this enhances the bowel movement and prevents constipation.
Emotional state
is equally important as emotional stress aggravates an acne condition by enhancing the oil gland activity. This is especially true with the teenagers who face several adjustment problems. During the menopause and the pre-menopausal stage, women go through a period of stress and emotional tensions. This aggravates the acne condition.
